Abstract:
This article presents systematically the development process and key technological breakthroughs of China's first F-class 50MW heavy-duty gas turbine (G50) with fully independent intellectual property rights. Dongfang Turbine Co., Ltd. of Dongfang Electric Corporation, through sixteen years of independent R&D, has integrated domestic heavy-duty gas turbine R&D resources. With support from multiple major national projects, it has collaborated with Xi'an Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Tsinghua University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University to carry out industry-university-research collaborative research. It has successively overcome core technologies such as F-class heavy-duty gas turbine forward design, high-temperature alloy materials, precision manufacturing, and experimental verification, and has established for the first time in China a complete and fully independent heavy-duty gas turbine development system. The successfully developed F-class G50 heavy-duty gas turbine achieves the internationally advanced level of heavy-duty turbines of the same class: unit thermal efficiency exceeds 36.5%, with cumulative commercial demonstration operation exceeds 15,000 hours, and operation and maintenance costs reduced by 27% compared to imported gas turbines of the same class, achieving comprehensive independent control over the core technologies of heavy-duty gas turbine.
